It was confirmed today that Idina Menzel will be performing "Let It Go" from "Frozen" at this year's Academy Awards on March 2.

The Broadway star took to Twitter to share her news. "It's really happening. I'm singing on the Oscars! Surreal. Thank [you "Frozen"] family and Oscar producers for this incredible opportunity."

Little by little, we are getting an idea of what to expect for the 2014 Oscars.

Back in August, Ellen DeGeneres was named the host. She first hosted in 2007. In classic Ellen fashion, she said, "I am so excited to be hosting the Oscars for the second time. You know what they say - the third time's the charm."

The show's producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who teamed up in "Chicago" and last year's Oscars, said that the host is a longtime friend that they always hoped to work with.

"...Nothing could be more exciting than teaming up to do the Oscars," the duo said. "There are few stars today who have Ellen's gift for comedy, with her great warmth and humanity. She is beloved everywhere, and we expect that the audience at the Dolby Theater, and in homes around the globe, will be as excited by this news as we are."

The funny lady will also be joined by Pharrell, who is also set to perform "Happy" from "Despicable Me 2." He wrote and produced the song.

And, as the Oscars does every year, it will look into the past. This time by honoring "The Wizard of Oz" on its 75th anniversary. The 1939 film was nominated for six awards, including best picture, and won two for original score and song.

Now that you're all caught up on this year's Oscars, take a minute to test your Oscar trivia knowledge.
