A newly-leaked document suggests that the tech giant may have planned a refresh for the Mac mini.

Benjamin Mayo of 9to5Mac reports that the Cupertino-based company could have hinted on an updated Mac mini. A document on an Apple support page for installing Microsoft Windows using Boot Camp reveals a mid-2014 Mac mini, says the outlet.

Some believe that the Mac mini mention could be a simple mistake. "With the MacBook Pro with Retina display lineup receiving its mid-2014 refresh today, Apple may have inadvertently modified the Boot Camp document in error, instead meaning to add the new Retina MacBooks to the list," speculates Apple Insider.

The support page has been deleted but 9to5Mac was able to save a screenshot of the page. An update on the report says that the Mac mini reference looks like a "legit leak" since there was no other MacBook Pro listed amid the page update.

The Mac mini was last updated two years ago and the current model comes with a 2.5 GHz dual-core Intel i5 processor with 4GB of RAM and 500 GB of storage. Other Mac lines of devices have received at least a minor upgrade, but not the Mac mini.

The small device was absent from any Apple event for the last two years - the most recent of which was the company's Worldwide Developers Conference. The alleged leak, if indeed true, will be the tech giant's first ever reference to the Mac mini 2014.

However, it can be recalled that the said Mac device was first rumored to be out earlier this year. As we previously reported, a Belgian retailer listed the device as up for grabs with a placeholder of February 2014.

Should an upgraded Mac mini be released soon, rumor mills are pointing to a myriad of specs and features for the device. The rumored specs include Intel's Haswell processors and Iris-integrated graphics, USB 3.0 ports, Thunderbolt 2 and 802.11a/c next-generation WiFi for faster connectivity, as noted by Business Insider.

As mentioned in our previous report on the Mac mini 2014, the device could also ship with the recently announced OS X Yosemite along with HandOff, AirDrop, MailDrop and Continuity features.

No rumored price for the Mac mini 2014 is out but it is more than likely that its price tag within the current model's $599.00 to $799.00 value.

It should be noted that Apple has not confirmed any of these alleged specs, features, release date and price as the company has not made any announcement regarding the Mac mini 2014 to date.
