The tech giant has unveiled a slew of all things Android on the first day of this year's Google I/O conference including Android "L," Android Wear, Android Auto and Android TV.

Sundar Pichai teased the next version of Android, currently referred to as "L," as one that will have a "fresh, new, bold look," quotes the Wall Street Journal. In fact, according to Engadget, Android 5.0 will have "the most dramatic UI overhaul" since Ice Cream Sandwich.

"The heart of this overhaul is called Material Design - a flatter look, with rounder elements and softer edges that will extend beyond tablets and phones to Chrome OS and Google's various web services," Engadget reports.

CBS News says that Android L will have a new security feature called "personal unlocking" which will automatically unlock after recognizing the device's owner and a battery-saving feature that ups battery life by 90 minutes.

Then, as previously predicted, came Google's Android Wear which the company says will be running the LG G and the Samsung Gear. David Singleton says that it will also run Motorola's Moto 360 which is slated for a summer release, relays CBS News.

"Android Wear will enable developers to offer health tracking, navigation apps, voice-activated ride sharing requests, step-by-step cooking instructions and other functions in an even more portable format," the outlet adds.

Android Auto, Google's in-car solution, was also unveiled at the event. It was already made known that the tech giant has partnered with car manufacturers such as Audi, GM, Hyundai, Honda and Nvidia. At the Google I/O event, the host demonstrated how to connect Android devices to cars.

"Android Auto has all the tools present in the Google Maps Android app, but is voice-enabled," reports Mashable. "The functions, from music selections to text notifications, also provide the same kind of robot-voice feedback that you'd hear when you use the voice-enabled version of Google's mobile search app."

Google is also once again, venturing to TV after with Android TV dropping Fall of this year. Tim Stevens of CNet describes the new OS saying, "The power of Google search, plus Google voice recognition, on your TV, driven by your phone. The ultimate smart TV?"

According to Time, Android TV "can be incorporated into smart TVs, set-top-boxes and video game consoles, allows people to easily switch between streaming apps like Netflix, downloaded movies and video games from the Google Play store."

But Android-related things are not the only ones demanding attention at Google I/O. CNet, in another report, says that two protesters also took a slice of the event. A woman, reportedly evicted from an apartment building owned by Google staff attorney Jack Halprin, shouted "You need to develop a conscience, Google," during David Burke's presentation.

Greg DeMichillie was also interrupted by a man while discussing Google Cloud Platform. "Louder and less coherent, a man who appeared to be in his late 20s warned the crowd that Google was 'building totalitarian machines that kill people,'" CNet says.
